I’m Kate Whalen, a Detroit-based consumer researcher and experience strategist translating data to business strategy that drives brand loyalty. Having worked the majority of my career at a Fortune 500 company and consulting with startups along the way, I bring corporate rigor and entrepreneurial agility to every project I do, delivering a modern, tech-forward approach while maintaining the crucial human element.

Consumer research is my bread and butter — I’m all about replacing painful surveys, data older than TikTok, and boring decks with culturally nuanced, fresh insights that reflect what’s really happening in the world. In the past 7 years, I’ve written 35 discussion guides and 27 surveys, moderated 100+ in-depth interviews, led 16 benchmarking studies, synthesized thousands of responses, and created 61 research reports.

In my free time I’m: at the farmers market, trying a new bar or restaurant, walking my German Shepherd, or researching something (shocker!)
